Where do CYDF's funds come from?
CYDF receives financial support from individuals, corporations, organizations , and private foundations,.
Where does CYDF's funding go?
Since its founding in 1989, CYDF has awarded grants totaling over RMB 4 billion (TBC) to promote the healthy growth and development of Chinese youth, primarily in the fields of education , culture, health, and environment protection.
Of CYDF's total expenses for 2007, 95 percent were allocated to program services and 5 percent to supporting services (administration and fundraising).
How can donors be assured their funds are being used wisely?
Our organization is operated for charitable purposes as defined under Chinese law. All programs receiving funding must provide regular and periodic reports stating their progress toward agreed upon goals. All programs receiving funding have a built-in evaluation component.
What could my money be used for?
Donations made to CYDF are directed at positive youth development programs all across China. CYDF's grant making support is focused on five key programs: Project Hope, Mother River Protection, Action Red Ribbon, Hope Hospital and Development Programs. Often donors wish to support a particular program such as education or health; however, whichever project you choose to support even a small contribution can make a big difference.
How are donations used in Project Hope?
Project Hope and the CYDF appeal to individuals and institutions to continue their support of children in China. We welcome contributions of any amount, however for larger donations you may elect to put your contribution towards a specific program such as those listed below. You may also simply put your donation towards a general fund, which goes towards wherever funds are most needed.

If you spend just 5 RMB to plant a tree you can make a difference! You can also plant a mu of trees or even sponsor an entire forest and have it named after you. The CYDF and its provincial partners will present a commemorative card to those who have made single donations of 200 RMB or more.
