Action Red Ribbon Project
In china, there are 650,000 people affected with AIDS. Of these, 25,000 die from AIDS every year.Most AIDS-infected people are between the ages of 15 to 49 and their numbers increase at the rate or 40% a year.If no action is taken, AIDS can become a problem that affects a nation’s prosperity, a community’s stability, economic development, and the nation’s safety.
A survey showed that 76,000 AIDS-affected children are under 15 years old.This figure is estimated to grow to 260,000 children by the year 2010 if drastic measures are not taken.The goal of the Action Red Ribbon Project is to assist the AIDS-affected children to go to school and improve their daily living conditions.
CYDF seeks to construct one-hundred “Red Ribbon Clubs of Care.” These Clubs will be a key component of “Action Red Ribbon.” Such “Red Ribbon Clubs of Care” will be constructed in 100 areas of China, as selected by the Chinese Ministry of Health.? The Clubs will educate rural populations, especially youth, on AIDS prevention.The Clubs will also raise funds for assisting those afflicted with HIV.CYDF will play a key role in raising funds for the construction of these “Red Ribbon Clubs of Care.”[more...]
