This Prize was jointly created by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the CYDF in 1996. The objective of this Prize is to enhance the development of young people in poverty-stricken areas, strengthen the determination to eliminate poverty by recognizing young people under the age of 25 who have made great contributions to underdeveloped areas.
