Many rural areas in China do not have the sufficient funds to build a school or fix the schools in desperate need of repair. A new school can provide primary education for hundreds of students and help improve the prospects of children living in several villages. This program seeks to aid schools in poor remote areas that are in urgent need of being rebuilt or modernized.
A donation of RMB 400,000 will establish a HopeSchool in an impoverished area. The donation only accounts for part of the building cost as the local government also contributes matching funds. These schools are chosen by the county governments and surveyed by a CYDF-endorsed commissioner to audit the amount of need that the site requires. In addition, these schools are required to keep in touch with their donors and submit expenditure reports to CYDF.
