Meanwhile, Gu Xiaojin also hoped that Mr. Smith's would make valuable comments and suggestions to China Youth Development Foundation in this visit. After hearing an introduction about China Youth Development Foundation, Mr. Smith was very impressed by the significant contribution to philanthropy cause made by CYDF during last 21 years since established. Gu Xiaojin then answered Mr. Smith’s questions about CYDF history, funding sources, and major projects.
Tu Meng felt interested in U.S Foundation Centre’s classification indicators of foundations which raised people’s concern and discussion. Mr. Smith held no reservations to introduce the experience of U.S Foundation Centre. The U.S Foundation Centre first collected Classification Criterion information from U.S Internal Revenue Service and then further refined according to demographic and geographic index, and pulled in factors widely concerned like people with disabilities, other vulnerable groups and climate change to improve the comprehensiveness of classification system.
