Only three days after the major earthquake occurred, CYDF sent its first emergency aid team to the disaster stricken region to get first-hand information about the needs of the affected children and damaged school buildings. The aid team discovered that the local children, their parents, teachers and the local education authorities are longing to have the children return to school.
To address the urgent needs, CYDF calls for the community to donate towards setting up primary and middle schools in the disaster areas that are designed to withstand any delayed effects of the earthquake.
Donation Details:
25,000 yuan (≈USD3,700) will help set up one earthquake relief classroom with desks and chairs. Classrooms are in form of large tents or rooms made of light movable boards, with a capacity of holding 50 students. Ten to twenty classrooms will make one hope school.
The Donor Can:
a. Name the classroom or the school supported.
b. Apply for tax exemption with the donation receipt issued by CYDF.
c. Visit the classroom or the school after it is finished.
